The valley is sealed off via the Cascade Range to your northeast and through the Klamath Mountains into the northwest. In the significantly north the terrain is rugged and closely forested, becoming wetter to the coastal aspect and drier and barren in the higher northeast. Within the south the Central Valley is closed off because of the transverse
